Richard Ervin
Richard Ervin, founder of Ervin Hypnosis Center, is a Certified Hypnotist. Richard has a B.A. in Psychology from Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) and a M.A. in Management and Human Relations from Webster College (now Webster University). He is certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists as a Certified Hypnotist and Instructor. Additional certifications and memberships are listed below.
Richard’s passion for hypnosis developed over the years as he helped numerous friends and family members gain positive outcomes through the use of self hypnosis. In 2004 after several years of retirement from Federal Express, Richard made the decision to extend his passion into the business world and become a certified hypnotist to help others in need. In 2007 after completing the certification course at Southern Institute of Hypnosis and becoming a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, Richard opened his first office in Brighton TN approximately 30 miles north of Memphis TN.
During a rather bad economic period, the business continued to grow and Ervin Hypnosis Center moved from the Brighton area to Bartlett, TN which is a suburb of the Greater Memphis area. The growth of the business validated to Richard that even in bad economic times people are willing to make positive changes to correct unhealthy habits such as smoking, bad food choices, or lack of exercise.
Richard has undergone his own health challenges in the past couple of years by using self hypnosis. After seeing video of himself during a speech, he realized he needed to make some serious health changes to get himself back to a healthy lifestyle. He now eats a primal diet, no sugar or wheat products, gets sufficient sleep, exercises regularly, and utilizes self hypnosis daily. While this is not a recommendation for everyone, this way of life has helped him lose 60 pounds in the past year.
